Well, over the weekend I bought and planted new rose bushes and pulled weeds from the veggie garden … and put perennials in pots. Everything is looking so springy!
As I am leaving for work, every rose bud, bloom and most leaves are gone! Eaten by the deer family that frequent my yard daily. I was not happy! I thought that the thorns on those stems would have been a perfect detour for those sweet little deers! Ugh!
The rose. A beautiful scented, velvety lipped bloom, held up by a sturdy stem covered in an ugly row of thorns. My how that speaks to me!! There is so much beauty in the midst of all things harsh or bad. Thank you Lord for that!
And so I get the garlic! Funny, deer don’t like the smell of it and if you plant it with the roses, they keep on walking! Now that, is what I call a recipe for something wonderful! I’ll get my blooms again, and the deer can eat the grass in the yard so I won’t have to mow as often!!!
Really?? Yes, dear, really.
